If you do love hotdogs, keep on reading!
You have stumbled on an article that will change your hotdog-loving life. Here you will find all the essentials for making and enjoying the best hotdog you’ve ever had.

I have taken the time to carefully select and try some of the best hotdog-loving inventions I could find on Amazon. Each item, as you continue, is indeed hotdog related.

I have detailed instructions about how to use each item and I let you know the pros and cons of each item.

I hope you enjoy reading this carefully curated list as much as I did making it!

Retro HotDog Toaster

First and foremost, to have the best hotdog ever, you need to cook it. This hotdog toaster is (to me) the greatest thing I’ve ever purchased to help fuel my hotdog love. This toaster works like any normal toaster except it perfectly cooks hotdogs (obviously). To operate, you simply slide a single hotdog into each of the circle slots in the top. Then, if you choose, you can also slide two buns into the bun warmer. After you’ve loaded the retro toaster, set the dial to your desired warmth number and then PULL THE LEVER! KRONK!!
Just as a little tip: if you wish to use the bun warming section of the toaster, you may want to split your dog toasting into two parts. Cook just the hotdogs for 3 minutes, then place your buns in and cook dogs and buns for an additional 2 minutes.

Pros

  • Fast, hands-free cooking
  • Perfect, all around cooking of the dogs
  • Easy to use
  • Easy to clean
  • Custom cook time
  • Can be taken anywhere that has an electrical outlet
  • Comes with a drip tray built in and tongs for easy grabbing of the hotdogs
  • Has a built in stop button that’s easily accessible for if your dog has cooked too long.

Cons

  • Drip tray can fill up fast depending on the type of hotdogs you like to eat.
  • Can get hot depending on the location and amount of dogs you’ve cooked.

the Hotdogger

Here we have the HotDogger! This incredible device allows you to create a leakproof edible holder for your hotdog. The leakproof bun is created by drilling into your buns vs slicing them. The hole that is drilled into your bun should not penetrate the bottom of the bun, leaving you with a pocket for whatever condiments your heart desires. While it looks simple in design, this tool is pretty complex. Made from recycled material, the HotDogger has teeth that are specifically designed to tunnel into bread, making the perfect pocket. To operate the HotDogger, simply grab your bread of choice, making sure it’s not pre sliced. Place the pointed tip of the HotDogger at one end of the bread and begin twisting using the handle. As you twist the HotDogger into the bread, make sure not to go all the way through. When you’ve reached your desired depth into your hotdog bun, pull the HotDogger out (I like to do so over a garbage can or plate). Now you can add condiments and your hotdog!

Pros

  • Super easy to use
  • Perfect pocket for condiments
  • Easy to clean
  • Perfect for kids (less mess)

Cons

  • Can only be used on non-sliced bread
  • Depending on the bread, it can be messy/crummy

The Bun Mold

So, I know what you’re thinking: “a Bun Mold? Really?” YES A BUN MOLD! The reason I loved this product so much is simply the customizability of your own bread. You can choose the kind of bun you want: wheat, white, wholegrain, etc. You can also choose the slice you want; top slice, side slice or even using the HotDogger to make your own hot-pocket hotdog! There are tons of bread recipes on the internet. Some only need 3 ingredients, so choosing a recipe is the hardest part. Using the bread mold is simple. First make your bread dough according to whichever recipe you chose. Then place the appropriate amount of dough in each bread mold and cook. Soon you’ll have as many buns as you need.

Pros

  • Custom Bread buns
  • Easy to clean
  • Easy to use

Cons

  • Very flexible and hard to hold very well (use a tray to compensate)

HotDog Holder

This one’s for those who have kids or just like to spice up the way they eat their hotdogs. I think this little gadget is super cute and useful! It not only holds your hotdog, it cuts your hotdog into perfect bite-size pieces and has a slot for whatever condiment you choose to use. Most people use this for their kids since most kids don’t like buns or can’t hold their bun and dog in one go. I would use this for when I’ve reached my bread limit but not my hotdog limit. To operate, simply place your cooked hotdog on the blue bottom hotdog slot. Then, take the “dog” portion of the device and place it over the hotdog in the blue slot and press down. The pressing down should have cut your hotdog and now you’re ready to eat.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Easy to clean
  • Condiment holder
  • Cuts perfect, even, bite sized pieces of hot dog
  • Super cute to look at

Cons

  • Can be hard to pick hot dog slices out of holder.
  • The material it’s made of makes it slippery on counters.

HotDog ROller (for grills)

Dads across America have needed this tool for the most perfect grilled hotdogs and didn’t even know it! This hotdog roller for the grill completely eliminates the heartbreaking act of loosing a hotdog to the grills gaps. I can’t recall the amount of times I’ve witnessed someone grilling hotdogs and go to roll their dogs, inevitably having a few dogs fall into the flames. If this is something you can relate to then you may need this tool. The hotdog roller is equipped with 6 smooth rollers that allow it to hold up to 5 hotdogs at a time. The hotdog roller works like you’d expect, using the tool provided. You simply push and/or pull the roller causing the inner rollers to circle or roll, which causes the hotdogs to rotate, giving you a perfectly all-around cooked hotdog.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Easy to clean

Cons

  • The tool given can sometimes slip and make rolling the dogs a bit difficult.

Hand Saving Slicer

A recurring issue I have whenever I want to cut up my freshly cooked hot dog is burning the crap out of my fingers trying to hold the hotdog still! While I know this tool wasn’t necessarily made to hold down HOT hotdogs, it works so well at doing so. As soon as my hotdog comes out of the Retro Toaster I mentioned earlier, my fur babies are dying to have a bite, but waiting for a whole hotdog to cool down takes forever in their eyes. This is where this tool comes in handy for me. I’m able to immediately cut the hotdog into bite size pieces without burning my fingers. Cutting the hotdog into smaller pieces allows it to cool faster, therefore shortening the wait time.
The actual use of this tool is to slice a small way into the hotdog before it cooks. Having these small slices all around the hotdog allows for even cooking on the grill and allows the flavor of the grill to deeply penetrate the hotdog. It also makes the hotdogs have a unique design on them after cooking which wows guest.

Pros

  • No burning your fingers
  • Easy to clean
  • Easy to use
  • Even cooking when grilling
  • Non-slip handle
  • Simple to use
  • Small and compact for taking it anywhere

Cons

  • Some have said this tool “chews up” the hot dog vs slicing it.

I hope you have enjoyed learning about some hotdog-lovers tools for success.
